Overland from Lijiang to Lhasa

Simple Itinerary:
Day 1 Lijiang/Tiger Leaping Gorge/Shangri-la
Start from the ancient Naxi Kingdom of Lijiang, drive through the majestic tiger leaping gorge, then continue driving to White Water Terrace and Pudacuo Nature Reserve, we arrive in Shangrila and overnight there.

Day 2 Shangri-la/Deqin
Transfer form Shangri-la to Deqin. Land cruising northward, along the way are natural wonders: the Lake Napa Nature Reserve with colorful grassland, the great turn of Jinsha River after the beautiful name of the Moon Bend, high passes on a narrow, meandering mountain road flanked by immense forests of the Baimang Snow Mt. area, and also a distant view of Meili Snow Mt. On the half way, stop at a famous ferry place and vital passage of the caravan trail, Benzilan. Overnight in Deqin.

Day 3 Deqin/Yanjing/Mangkang/Zhuka
After appreciating the great sunrise over the sacred peaks of Snow Mt. Meili, continue driving. Along the Lancang River we see salt wells of Yanjin before reaching Mangkang, where the southern and eastern caravan routs merge. Here the soil turns to red. Stay in Zhuka.

Day 4 Zhuka/Zuogong/Basu
Cross over Dongdala Mt. (5008m) to Zuogong, then over Mt. Yela (4518m), down to the 99 bends of Nujiang River. Then we pass Basu couty. Continue to cross over Mt. Anjiula (4600m), we arrive at Ranwu Town and overnight here.

Day 5 Basu/Ranwu/
Pay a visit to the most beautiful lake in eastern Tibet—Ranwu Lake, and the Midui Glacier. That’s a fairyland! Then transfer to Bomi, a fascinating town called Switzerland in Tibet. Overnight in Bomi.

Day6, Ranwu/Bayi
Drive north along Yarlung Zangbo River, we will pass the most dangerous portion of our Journey, Tongmai. Then we get to Lulang, where we can enjoy the beautiful rural view. Surmount Mt. Sejila (4708m), we finally arrive Bayi Town of Linzhi region. Overnight in Bayi.

Day 7, Bayi/Gongbujiangda/Mozhugongka/Lhasa
Out of Bayi, we find the elegant Niyang river. Pass over Lake Basongcuo, and Grassland Bajietang, surmount Mt. Mila (5010m), we finally get our destination, Lhasa.
